Outfit of the Day: Tallulah's Threads

It's the weekend! Hope everyone has had a good week. Today's outfit post features an up and coming fashion and vintage boutique, Tallulah's Threads. Founded in 2012 by Fashion graduate Danielle Collier, the brand has gone from strength to strength - launching it's second collection earlier this year. The quirky clothing line sources itself from hand-picked vintage pieces from across the UK and creates high quality garments inspired from the 50's to the 90's.

The thing that first struck me about the handmade pieces is the simplicity of the designs. The elegant prints and style make them wearable for all girls no matter what your style is. Taking a simple smock or shift dress, and combining with a beautiful and timeless print to produce a wardrobe necessity which can be mistaken for a vintage gem.
Ginghams, floral and tartan prints are a sure win with me. I wore my tartan smock dress on the first day of receiving it and got asked where it was from by two people. It was super comfortable, a great fit and ultimately flattering. I love that I could dress this up or down; teamed with some thick tights and Chelsea boots for the day and sheer tights, heeled boots for the evening. I was really impressed with the quality of the fabric and craftsmanship, I believe this garment could easily be confused with that from a high street retailer and I've asserted myself a serial dresser with this one! A minor detail that I really liked was the clothing tag. As odd as it sounds, I found this really professional and I'm pretty sure that even when Missguided started all those years ago that they didn't even have a Missguided tag. This keen understanding and eye for detail with each individual garment is what makes this boutique all the more promising. I would have liked the dress a little longer but otherwise I cannot fault this brand and I'm excited to see what the future brings for the shop.
