Beauty Review: Lime Crime Lipstick

Happy Friday lovely followers! Today's post is something for the weekend with my latest treat which comes in the form of a Unicorn Lipstick by Lime Crime.

Made up of all kinds of weird and wonderful colourings to match any mood, skin tone or trend, there is something for everyone. I've been eyeing these beauties up for a while and up until last week, I resisted. Set up by American model and internet sensation, Doe Deere, six years ago, Lime Crime has become one of the most edgy, high fashion and certainly eye-catching brands on the makeup market. Better yet, it is 100% Vegan which makes them officially cruelty free.

The packaging alone is beautiful in a floral postage box and even more so by the limited edition holographic lipstick box for the 6th anniversary. I went for a Unicorn Lipstick in Chinchilla, bold and loaded with pigment with just the right amount of grunge glamour.

One of the first things I noticed when putting it on is the instant moisture which is given by the seed oil. Even hours later, my lips still felt hydrated whilst maintaining a bold, bright colour which is unusual for brightly coloured lipsticks as they tend to loose their pigment in a few hours or as we eat/drink. In many cases, it is the high levels of toxic lead that keep a long, yet drying, lasting colour which can be found in the majority of leading brands - but from the ingredients listed online - no lead here.

The colour goes on like thick paint, completely covering the lip and making that dream of a Kylie Jenner lip totally achievable. I am so happy to add this to my ever-growing makeup collection. I know I don't post much about beauty very often but I've always been passionate about makeup and was lucky enough a few years back to be a makeup artist at London Fashion Week. I will definitely try and feature more makeup products and would love to know what sorts of things you'd like me to review. Please leave me some comments and questions, I love answering them!

Hope everyone has a great weekend, wrap up warm!

  1. Wow, Chinchilla has such a cool color and you look great with it. I've been interested in their lipsticks for some time, I think I've to get one now xD I've just one question, does the lipstick has a scent? Sometimes I cannot stand the scent of some lipsticks if it's too strong. Thanks for the great review :)

    1. They have the slightest scent but it's kind of a creamy, vascline kind of smell. It's not very noticeable but I think it's how you know it's so moisturising :)

    1. Yeah it's certainly bold, even for me! They have loads of different colours and lip stains in varieties of shades. I really like them and really glad I gave in to temptation! :) x

  3. I'm definitely not edgy enough to pull off a colour like that but it looks great on you! I love the flowery lime crime box (?). It's such a contrast to the cool lipstick and its packaging!
