Beauty Review: Face B4 Face Wash and Serum

Hello, hello. Back today with a long overdue beauty review. I was sent some products from FaceB4 to test out and share with you all. Having never considered myself to have back skin before, I was pretty apprehensive but here's my honest review...

Face B4 produce skincare regimes which boast to be the UK's most effective anti-bacterial, spot-fighting products which is a pretty big statement to make. At first glance, I'm not a massive fan of the packaging. I think the branding makes it look a little cheap (though the price tells us, it certainly is not). I think what they were going for here, is a clinical look to imply it's medically proven. Nether-the-less, Intrigued to try the products out, my package from the brand included a Face B4 Anti-bacterial Face Wash* and matching Serum*.

First up is the face wash - a combined cleanser and toner, containing two pumps dispensing into one foam puff. As per the directions, this should be massaged onto wet skin, leave on for a minute or two and rinse. Being a foam, the face wash feels incredibly light and gentle on the skin though I often find with skincare products, that I like them to feel like they're really working. This was almost too gentle more for me and having combination skin, it left some areas of the skin feeling a little dry after.

On then, to the serum to "smooth and calm". I imagine that if you have spot-prone skin, unlike myself, the face wash has probably left your skin feeling super cleansed and perhaps it needs a little smoothing and boost to restore any lost moisture. Only a very small amount is needed which saves wasting any product and it can be applied directly to the skin. Again, having combination skin, this was possibly a little too oily for me and left my skin pretty shiny - not good for someone who likes a matte look. It did, however, feel super soft.

If you're looking for a super gentle cleanser and have dry skin, I think this product would probably be ideal. Unfortunately for me, I find that whenever I try skincare products, I tend to cause more damage then if I'd just left my skin alone - basically, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Whilst I'm personally going to stick to my standard routine of very little, if the brand brought out a range for the various skin types (combination, sensitive etc), I would certainly like to try it at a reduced cost. I don't feel this suits all skin types currently and therefore not suitable for everyone. Face B4 can be found at Boots stores and from their website.

Thanks to Face B4 for giving me the chance to try out their products. Have you tried Face B4 products before? What's your skincare routine? As always, I love to hear your thoughts so please do leave them in the comments section below.

Hope you're all having a great weekend so far!

  1. Ah it's shame it didn't suit your skin type, I'm combination too and find some things are made for too oily or too dry skin!

    1. I know! I bet if you have super spotty skin it would be good though! Unfortunately I found it made my skin worse. Bodyshop Seaweed is amazing for combination though! Xx

  2. It sounds good but I'm just like you I start using new things and I end up making my skin worse! I just use a face pack a few times a week and a hot cloth!

  4. I really struggle to find good skin care at the moment, and when I do try new routines it always seems to get worse, not sure why considering I drink 3litres of water daily!! I am definately going to try lush soon, natural skin care products seem the way forward!

    1. Yeah I'm the exact same. I honestly would recommend Bodyshop (although I always use Groupon vouchers for them cos it's expensive) but they do some great skincare as long as you get the correct one for your skin :) xx

  5. What a shame that it was not good for your skin. I don;t do much in the shape of skin care which is probably really bad. I am just so lazy. xo

    1. I'm completely the same hun, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! That's why I've always just left it as it is. I think if this was made for more combination or different skin types it would be ok. Thanks for reading it :) x

    1. Thanks Gil! To be honest for alot of the other catagories, I'm not actually sure who some of them are. Becky Bedbug is a great one to vote for, also Dorkface (she's brilliant). Maybe take a look and see which one's you like. Thank you :D

  7. I'm always a bit suspicous of spot-fighting products, as I'm scared they will damage my skin.. Also sad to hear it didn't work for you, as the products do sound really good! But I agree, it's best to stick to your routine if it has proven that it's good for you :D Amazing pictures you took as well!

    1. I couldn't agree more. I think this would certainly work for others but just didn't work well with my own skin. I think I'll stick to my seaweed face wash for now :) x
