Travel Diary: Christmas in Berlin, Part II

Yet more from Berlin and, today I'm sharing some photos from our visit to some of Germany's most famous landmarks and one of the strangest restaurants I've ever been to. Here's photo diary Part II of my Christmas Berlin trip...

Checkpoint Charlie (pictured above) was just a stones throw from our hotel and so it seemed only fitting to include a photo of it. One of my favourite sights from my visit to Berlin a few years ago was the Holocaust Memorial and the Reichstag building and so we made a special effort to visit them a second time. Every time we visit Germany, I'm blown away by the amazing architecture and how moving the memorials are. Despite trying to snow that day, and it being pretty darn cold, it definitely didn't take away from the amazing buildings and structures.

We finished up the day by grabbing a bite to eat at one of the strangest yet interesting restaurants I think I've ever been to with it's own built-in tattoo parlour - White Trash Fast Food. The menu was as crazy as their decor and I can't wait to share my food review with you in a future post. I ate a whole octopus while Jack got a rather tasty looking pulled pork chilli burger. We sampled all the delights of White Trash before taking a short stroll back to our hotel via the Spree river.

Looking back on the photos really makes me want to go back to Berlin for a third time. I truly loved every minute of our trip and spending an amazing week with Jack. Thanks for reading yet more of my German photo spam.

Until next time,

    1. Ha yeah it was a crazy place - it's built in but still very hygenic so there's no food anywhere near the tattoos :) x

  5. Really great photos! I don't think I've ever eaten octopus. I did a search to compare it to squid (which I've had) and a blog said the flavor of the octopus is stronger than the squid. Do you agree with that, Sophie?
I came back from seeing The Force Awakens and I loved it. I look forward to all your future posts and reviews :)

    1. It's very similar to squid but much more tender and not so chewy. It's quite meaty but essentially much nicer then squid although I love both.

Aw amazing! I loved it too - I've seen it twice now and it's so awesome!
