Lifestyle Review: Valentine's Day Favourites

Another of my favourite holiday's is upon us and it's safe to say, I've been well and truly suckered in to buying all kinds of heart-shaped treats. With February 14th quickly approaching, here's a last minute favourites for Valentine's Day...

Regular readers will remember my love of Lazy Oaf. Whilst spending way too much online, I came across these adorable Heart Socks for £6.00 and couldn't resist adding them to my basket. They're ankle length and can be paired with pretty much anything!

No matter what your relationship status, you can't go wrong with cards as a small token of your love. My best friend and I always send each other a card a mini present and some of the best I've found have been from Etsy, Paperchase and Forbidden Planet. Forbidden Planet do a whole range of fun and cute cards with comic, movie and TV references, all which are suitable for pretty much all year round. I picked up these Star Wars cards just to have in the house in case of a forgotten birthday or something although I secretly want them for myself. When in doubt or you've left things to the last minute, you can't ever go wrong with Paperchase. I picked up these cards for just £2.50 each.

Whilst out shopping for sensible kitchen items for our new flat, Jack and I made a quick detour to Urban Outfitters where I purchased this mug. I figured that we do actually need mugs and why not make it a pretty one? I love that it's clear glass and of course, a big red heart. I don't drink tea or coffee but I seem to be collecting quite a few mugs lately- at least they make for pretty decoration.

These edible treats from Marks and Spencer make for a perfect little gesture. Chocolates and sweets are customary at this time of year and there are literally countless valentine's chocolates on the shelves at the moment. I don't usually pay any attention to them but I picked up these adorable little chocolate and salted caramel boxes from M&S as I think they make for excellent little gifts. The embossing and snake print on the little keepsake box really makes these little treats look all the more special and each comes with a different saying on the lid.

With the move, I gave Jack his Valentine's Day present a little early. We don't usually do gifts at all and tend to, instead, have a nice day out or a fancy dinner together but given this is the first year in our new home, I figured this could be a joint moving in gift/early Valentine's day present. Jack's wanted a record player for a while and had even started to collect a couple of old records for when he eventually got himself one. I saw this Crosley Record Player on special offer on a Groupon and, given the price, couldn't resist treating him. The box comes in a variety of colours and materials to suit any decor and the device itself is easy to use with built-in speakers. It also closes to look like a suitcase for easy mobility and storage. I purchased mine for £59.99 from Groupon but these are also available on Amazon and in-store at Urban Outfitters.

I've been massively impressed with Wilkinson's homeware range at the moment and couldn't help but pick up these cookie cutters on a recent visit. I've always had a thing for kitchen items and with the new flat, I had the perfect excuse to spend on these beauties. Now that I have more space in the kitchen, I hope to bake and cook a lot more. If I get time, I'd like to try and make some Valentine's cookies for work using these and they always come in handy for future baking. See similar here

Lots of love,

  5. Valentine's stuff is seriously SO cute. I bought a tassel banner to hang up in my room whenever I get my ass out of the condo, but I really don't care if it's red, pink, and gold. It's adorable.

    I need those socks.
