Beauty Review: LunatiCK Cosmetic Labs

It's already March and with another month comes another splurge. A few weeks ago, I was browsing Instagram and came across one of these beautiful items. Intrigued by the rest of their products, I ended up purchasing myself some of these little treats by LunatiCK Cosmetic Labs...

Now the name might sound scary but LuncatiCK Cosmetic Labs are a cruelty-free, vegan beauty brand with a wonderfully dark and gothic edge. Intentionally made for horror and Special Effects Makeup use, they create bright and bold products intended for harsh contouring, building up textures and creating statement looks. Despite being meant for SFX, I also think their products make for an excellent addition to an everyday makeup collection. I was super impressed with how quickly my delivery came, as well as the reasonable cost of the shipping fees. Here's a little look at my order...

The High Definition Microfinish Pressed Powder gives your skin a photo-ready, matte finish. It is a translucent powder which can be applied to bare skin or on top of a foundation to even out complexion and blend fine lines or wrinkles. Due to it being translucent and so light, the website states that this is suitable for all skin types and tones. Not only is this product beautiful in appearance (I adore the Oujia packaging), but it's also so light and easy to apply. I also really like that you can add it on top of any lipstick for a matte finish as, whilst I tend to buy mostly matte lip colours, I still have some golden oldies which are gorgeous shades but also too shiny.

This was larger than expected although, there is not a huge amount of powder and so I will be using this rather sparingly. Thankfully, however, only a very small amount of powder is needed at a time as it goes a very long way. I'd definitely recommend using a high quality brush so not to waste any of the product also. Although you will undoubtedly incur some shipping costs if you're buying from the UK, the collection is very reasonable and even better with the exchange rate. When I saw them on Instagram, I expected them to be very expensive and was super pleased to see how affordable these were. When you consider that you could easily pay around £20 for something such as this a store like Benefit, $20 (around £14) isn't too bad at all. And just look at the awesome design of it! The attached mirror is super handy when carrying this with you on the go and I love the Ouija shaped casing. Much like the Two Faced powders, the design itself is certainly what sealed the deal for me. I will be super careful not to use this one up too quickly and hold on to it for as long as possible.

Next up is The LunatiCK Labs Bullet Lipstick in Lacrimosa. Again, this product has really cool packaging - it's shaped like a bloody bullet. Once again, a cosmetic brand has tapped in to my need to have novelty lipsticks and I've taken the bait. The shade, Lacrimosa, is actually a chrome translucent shade with a pink hue to give a stunning, semi-matte, metallic look. Intentionally created to use over a base, I think it works equally as well on it's own.

My first impressions of the lipstick were that it looks amazing. Better yet, as soon as you remove the lid, you can see the colour pigments which take very little building up on the lips. The lipstick itself feels a little sticky at first but it soon sinks in and is ultimately moisturizing. The colour is very long lasting and you need minimum application to get a full look. I can't wait to use this over the top of a pastel base for an evening out with the girls. Lacrimosa is a Limited Edition lipstick so grab it while stocks last!

Last but certainly not least is the LunatiCK Labs Lip Slick in Crypt Cream. The Lip Slicks are highly pigmented lip paints in a variety of opaque creamy colours. Similar to the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks, they come with a lipgloss-style applicator and a little goes a long way. The colour I chose is very full and lasted a surprisingly long time. Better yet, it was also rather hard to remove which has its advantages. The texture itself is a thick, light weight cream although it is very sticky at first. Unexpectedly but also rather pleasing, this one has a peppermint smell which makes the lips tingle. Unlike the Jeffree Star lipsticks, however, I did need to add a little extra of the Lip Slick to achieve the same fullness and it's also not matte and so I did try adding some of the pressed powder on top. Matte or not, I do think this coral/pinky shade is gorgeous and it certainly makes a change from my usual gothic tones as Spring/Summer approaches. The coverage is great and will require minimum re-application throughout the day. Plus - I love the packaging!

Well that's it for another beauty review - have you ever tried LunatiCK Cosmetic Labs before? What do you think of the products I picked out? As always, I love reading your thoughts so please do leave your comments below.

Until next time lovelies,

    1. It's really good value - I think it's under $20 then the shipping is $10 for international, but even so that's like £6? Which is what you pay for some UK shipping. Any over $20 is $14 postage, which again isn't too bad given the exchange rate on shipping and the products themselves :) Hope that helps! x

  10. That ouija board powder is just to die for - I'd be far too scared to use it! It's quite similarly priced to Soap & Glory actually! And the crypt cream is just the perfect colour for your skin tone.
