Father's Day Beauty Review: The Great British Grooming Co. Beard Kit

The Great British Grooming Co Beard set
This Sunday is Father's Day and so I thought I'd take today's beauty review to share a little last minute gift guide and something for the lads. So in a change to the usual set up, here's my boyfriend's review of The Great British Grooming Co...

The Great British Grooming Co beard products
A few weeks ago, The Great British Grooming Co. got in touch and asked if I'd like to treat my Dad to their beard kit. I'll be honest - my Dad doesn't have a beard. Nor has he ever had a beard. However, my boyfriend most certainly does and so he kindly offered to be my guinea pig for the purposes of this review. For those of you not yet aware of GBGC, they are an online brand who offer a variety of beard and male grooming products. Combining natural indigents such as Argan oil, they work to hydrate, nourish and boost the skin of your partner or loved ones precious face. So what did Jack make of it all?

The Great British Grooming Co Beard Wash
First up is The Great British Grooming Co. Beard Wash (£4.99 - 200ml)*. Infused with bergamot, fougere, cedarwood, cinnamon and amber, this wash can worked in to any beard to untangle, cleanse and soften the facial hair. On first impressions, the smell is super strong but certainly a pleasant one. It definitely helped to soften skin although regular use would really help to boost that. The good thing about is that, combined with the Argan Oil, the wash gets a good foam with little effort which means it is uber nourishing and only a small amount of wash is needed at a time. Overall, Jack really liked this product but it was really just the smell of that really won him over.

The Great British Grooming Co Beard Oil
Next up is The Great British Grooming Co. Beard Oil (£8.99 - 75ml)* - a multi-tasking Beard Oil designed to soften coarse hair. Also made from Argan Oil, it claims to soften and hydrate both the skin underneath and facial hair for a more manageable beard. Out of the set, this was Jack's favourite product but again, mostly for it's smell. Having tried out a few different beard oils over the years, Jack was sure that this is definitely his preferred product and he noticed it working right away to soften and tame the beard. The only con, however, is that you have to watch how much you use at a time. The applicator means that it does come out in large quantities, quite quickly so try to be careful when using.

The Great British Grooming Co Beard Balm
Last but certainly not least is The Great British Grooming Co. Beard Balm (£6.99 - 50g)* - Formulated with Coconut Oil, Shea Butter and Argan Oil, the beard balm is all about moisture and conditioning beard hairs, as well as the skin beneath it. To apply, simply warm the balm in between your fingers and massage in, using a fine comb to tame and style any rogue hairs. Out of the set, this was probably the product that Jack would get the least amount of use out of but again, he really liked the smell and how easily it was to massage in to the beard; leaving no sticky bits of lumps of product. It certainly does the job and only a small amount is needed to shape and style the beard but I can only really see him using this when he can be bothered and not so much daily. The tin itself, however, has a good amount of product so this should last him a really long time.

    1. That's great- I didn't realise that comment spamming was still an effective SEO method? Good luck with your 100% bounce rate.

  3. I hope you had a nice Father's Day weekend, Sophie! I got my father a gardening tool (weed whacker) to replace his old one. He doesn't have a beard but he does have a moustache. Would this product be any benefit to him?

    1. Thanks Gil, you too! I think it's suitable for any facial hair really? I wouldn't think it's worth shipping all the way to America for though. It's a good product range but not THAT good :)

  4. They all sound like they smell pretty good, Sophie. I do love a man with a beard and I like to think if I had a partner with a beard I would get him these. Argan Oil is wonderful for hair and nails I believe. Have a great week Sophie
