Lifestyle Event: Sleepover with The Collective Old Oak

The Collective Old Oak
On Friday, myself and fellow blogger babe Emily were invited an exclusive blogger sleepover event at The Collective Old Oak - the world's largest co-living space. With a 50s-inspired theme evening, we were invited to enjoy a night of with pampering, cocktail masterclasses, dinner and a film screening in the building’s very own cinema....

Just a short from Willesden Junction Overground Station is The Collective Old Oak - a brand, spanking new co-living space which houses up to 500 residents. Complete with it's own gym, sauna, spa, cinema, roof terrace, games room and several communal areas - it's safe to say it was unlike anything I'd ever seen. Having first arrived, I imagined it to be a lot like a glamorous student halls (which is partly correct) but it's not actually aimed at students. Instead, The Collective houses young professionals who perhaps don't want to flat share but enjoy the community spirit and an active social life. Not really knowing what to expect, myself and Emily headed along for a sleepover and were in for a real treat...

Upon arrival I was greeted with a goodie bag full of amazing treats including Selfridges vouchers and some beauty products. Having spent a little while on the train, I was eager to head up stairs to my room and dump my stuff before preparing for a fun-packed night of activities. I was taken to a private room which features a shared kitchen space outside the door. At first glance the room was a little bit like an airplane, but it really did have all the essentials; a TV, plenty of plug sockets, a comfy bed which looks out on London, an en-suite bathroom and storage space. Whilst I couldn't necessarily imagine living there for longer than a few days (there are larger rooms available), it certainly made for a wonderful sleepover spot.

Having gone straight from work, I arrived a little later than everyone else but thankfully I didn't miss out on the 50's inspired cocktail masterclass with two mixologists from award-winning cocktail bar, The Vault, based in Soho. Having stirred us up some gin based treats and hosted a little cocktail making competition, dinner was served at The Common - The Collective's private bar and restaurant.

Having had dinner, it was time for my favourite part of the evening. Located on the 5th floor of the Collective is their very own Cinema Room complete with vintage film decor, snacks and a popcorn machine. What amazed me most is that these weren't even just for us bloggers - it was available all year round to residents and inclusive in their cost of living there - how awesome is that? With popcorn (and prosecco if you're Emily) in hand, we grabbed our giant bean bags and snuggled up to watch musical classic, Grease (Randal Kleiser, 1978) before heading off to bed.

All in all, this was easily one of my most jam-packed and exciting blogger events I've been to so far. The Collective has definitely given me a different perspective on London living and I was genuinely amazed by the atmosphere.  All the residents were so friendly and inviting which just goes to show that it truly is a community. Furthermore, the decor of the entire building was to die for which I can imagine only makes for an even better place to live.

A huge thanks goes to The Collective for putting us up for the night and for laying on a very impressive evening of activities. Thanks also to my fellow blogger babe Emily for being my fabulous plus one. Well, that's it for another lifestyle event - what do you think of Co-Living? Would you consider living at The Collective? As always, I love reading your comments so please do leave me lots of lovely ones down below.

Until next time,

  5. All those amenities in the building seem to make up for the tiny private space. It seems like a good setup for someone who is single and just starting out in London.

    1. Yeah I mean my room was particularly small but there are bigger rooms available but I totally agree - all the free space outside the room totally makes up for it. There's so many areas to chill out and so much to do. They have a weekly calendar of events to encourage socials and things :)
