Foodie Review: All Bar One, Leicester Square

All Bar One Leicester Square
Back again with another foodie review to get your teeth in to and today I'm pleased to be reviewing the brand new All Bar One; located in the heart of London's Leicester Square. Last week, fellow blogger babe Fran and I were invited to sample their brand new menu and cocktails. Here's a little look...

Neon Signs All Bar One
All Bar One Leicester Square interior
You'll have to accept my apologies for the poor quality of the photos featured in this post. Whilst All Bar One makes for a great restaurant and bar, the lighting does not make for high quality photos. But you can't have everything, right? Anyway - being a brand new branch and, as you can see from the photos, the Leicester Square All Bar One* is sure to leave you with decor inspirations. Complete with neon lights, copper and movie inspired finishes it makes for a lovely evening setting. Having taken our seats which overlooked the square and gotten ourselves a cocktail each, it was time for some food...

All Bar One Chorizo and Halloumi Skewers
All Bar One Pan-Fried King Prawns
All Bar One Nachos
Known for their smaller or starter plates, we thought we'd dive in with a variety of treats to share. Starting off, we ordered the Chorizo and Halloumi Skewers - served with pico de gallo style salsa sauce which were probably my favourite from the whole meal. This is pretty much the perfect starter for me. The halloumi was perfectly cooked and combined with the chorizo and sauce, I could happily have just eaten these all night. To follow, we tried out the Pan-Fried King Prawns with tomato, chilli and paprika served with baby kale and warm ciabatta; and Fran ordered us a huge sharing platter of the All Bar One Nachos topped with Monterey cheese, salsa, sour cream, guacamole and pulled pork. Fran had also actually ordered another side but thank god they forgot about it because we were close to being defeated. But then the mains came...

All Bar One Smoked Haddock Fish Cakes
All Bar One Steak Frites
For mains, Fran opted for the Smoked Haddock and Mustard Fish Cakes - served with Bloody Mary sauce, coleslaw and served with fries (or house salad). I went for my standard signature dish of Steak Frites - 21 day aged 9oz rib-eye steak, served with peppercorn sauce and watercress with Parmesan and rosemary fries. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare and was an excellent cut - with no fat. I do feel as though it could of had a tiny bit more seasoning but combined with the parmesan fries and sauce, it made for a great meal.

Overall, the new branch is beautiful and both the food and the service were excellent. Whilst a few bits from our order were forgotten but in all honesty, they did us a favour in doing so and had we been paying then I would have definitely flagged it. We were having such a lovely evening that we had completely forgotten anyway until we left anyway.  One thing I also spotted was a great selection of vegan and veggie dishes which is often quite rare. If you're in central anytime soon, I'd definitely recommend popping in for a cocktail or two and dinner. Thanks so much to All Bar One for a great evening and to the gorgeous Fran for the wonderful company too!

Until next time food lovers,

  1. All Bar One is definitely one of my favourite chains! They have some really great veggie and even vegan options which is really rare and it makes me a very happy bunny. I can't wait to try out this new branch as well! x

  2. Ah, if you're going to have red meat, there's nothing like a good ribeye! All the other food looks pretty good, too. I always like your camerawork, Sophie :) What kind of camera do you use? Is Leicester Square still among the best places to catch a movie in London?

    1. I think so yes :) You've got the Prince Charles Theatre there and obviously the Odeon Leicester Square is really cool. I use a Nikon 3200 - it's not the best in the world but it is a good camera for blogging and such like :)
