Travel Diary: Postcards from Port de Pollença, Mallorca - Part I

Last week, I arrived back in the UK after two glorious weeks in the sun. I've always considered myself a city break kind-a-gal but having arrived in such a beautiful location in Port de Pollença, it was hard not to be taken in by the stunning views, amazing cuisine and tourist hot spots. Here's a little look at Part I of our trip.

Home for the two weeks was a private villa just a stones through from the Port de Pollença beach front. Naturally, we stocked up on plenty of inflatables for the pool - including the rather lovely, Alice the flamingo and Ian the unicorn. Having unpacked and settled in, it was time to explore the island.

Luckily, we were in a great location to visit some of Mallorca's most famous spots, including Pollença Old Town and Alcudia. Both of which were stunning. We spent hours just wandering through the little cobbled streets, markets and enjoying the local cuisine. Great for getting our steps up was the 365 Calvari steps - a steep walk up to a peak which overlooked the island and the views did not disappoint. On lower ground, however, was a number of stunning churches which, no matter what your faith of beliefs, were breathtaking to explore.

In the evenings, Port de Pollença is arguably even prettier. Though it's not a million miles away from the likes of Magaluf, it is a quiet area but pleasantly busy in the evenings; with dozens of family-run restaurants and shops. Jack and I spent the majority of our evenings taking strolls along the Pine Walk and, of course, eating all the food. Oddly enough, I actually lost half a stone on this holiday - hardly surprising  now given we walked absolutely everywhere and lived entirely on fresh fish and seafood for two weeks.

Well, that's Part I of my postcards from Mallorca. Have you ever visited there before? Where are some of your favourite beach holiday locations? As always, I love reading your comments so please do leave me lots of lovely ones down below. Now back in the UK, the post-holiday blues have certainly set in fast but I have to say that I'm glad to be back in normal temperatures and cannot wait for the Autumn months.

Until next time sun lovers,

  1. Your holiday snaps are beautiful, and professional, they really capture your time away. I would love to visit Port de Pollença for the experience but also, I have a passion for photography so I would enjoy that aspect too. We currently own a campervan, so we travel around the UK in it which is a different kind of way to see new places. I love eating out too, those dishes you have shown look very tasty. Thanks for sharing! :-) xx

  4. It looks so amazing! Perfect for a couple :) Earlier this year, I had the urge for international travel but I started thinking it wouldn't be that fun to travel alone. Maybe some international travel for me next year for me although I have plans to vacation in Seattle this year.

    1. Yeah it was lovely, thank you. We went with my entire family *very stressful* but great for families and couples :) I think travelling alone could be a great experience though - you could meet people along the way and things. Where were you thinking of visiting? I've always wanted to see Seattle and the big space needle!

    2. So your niece was also there and made her lovely mermaid comment about you? Internationally speaking, I'm thinking Europe for early next year. Maybe I'll find someone to travel with me by then! I have some relatives in Seattle so I will visit them as well as sightsee :)
