Lifestyle Event: 5 Ways to Relax More with #MiraMoments

The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting colder. With Winter seemingly upon us now, Mira Showers invited myself and some fellow blogger babes along for an evening of self-care. Here's a look...

It's been a bit of mad month or so. Recent events in my personal life have meant I've been just a tad stressed and, as a result, I've really been trying to take better care of myself. So when I was invited to spend an evening of relaxation with Mira Showers* at the Parlour Room in Soho, I was very much obliged.

Greeted with a snug dressing gown on arrival, the room was complete with cocktail mixologists, massage therapists and organic beauty experts to help us on our way to self pampering. Not to mention a cracking playlist of cheesy pop music. Throughout the night, the event organisers had kindly provided a team of massage therapists to help people loosen up after a day at work. Now, if you know me well, you'll know I'm not a fan of being touched but seeing people's reactions to the massages has made me consider finally getting my back looked at - instead of just moaning that I have backache all the time. So this is progress!

Having grabbed a few bites to eat and a selection of delicious cocktails (non-alcoholic options were available, of course), we sat down with Midas Touch Crafts to learn more about natural, organic ingredients that we could use everyday that can help us feel more relaxed. And we even got to make our own beauty products to take home.

So, what did I take away from the evening? Well, besides catching up with some of my favourite blogger babes, it got me to thinking about some simple and necessary steps that could really help you to relax more, especially when the weather outside is frightful...

1. Have a hot shower/bath - after a long, busy day at work, a hot shower or a warm bath really makes me feel happy again. It just helps me to feel fresh and gets rid of all my aches and pains.

2. Netflix and chill - It's an obvious one but there's few things I love more than snuggling up on the sofa, catching up on my shows and escaping with a film on a cold winter's night. Vegging time is just as important for your mental health.

3. Lighting - This might just be me but I truly find fairy lights and candles to be super calming. Last Christmas, I decorated the flat with Christmas lights, only to find I loved them I couldn't take them down. Telly on, lights on and relax.

4. Beauty treatments - I know it probably sounds cliche but sometimes a self-care night is just needed. Paint your toe nails, put on a face mask or try out that new product you've just had sat there. With a busy work and social life, these can often be the things we just don't make time to do to often enough.

5. Get an early night - OK, now I really sound boring. Lately, I've really felt as though I had been burning the candle at both ends. Out every night for a screening or blog event and not getting home until late. As fun as it all sounds, it can really leave you looking and feeling drained and so a decent nights rest can really make a big difference.

Well, that's it for another lifestyle event. I had a wonderful evening with Mira Showers and they were even kind enough to gift us a goodie bag of treats including a waterproof speaker for the shower (much needed) and a new shower head designed to enhance your senses. All in all, it was a great night. But tell me, what are some of your top tips for relaxation and making your day just that little bit better?

Until next time,

  6. Nice to see you! Thank you so much for this awesome information, as it is very informative for all visitors of this blog! But the best online psychologist started working with me when I was pretty deep in anxiety still, so I was messaging her quite often. She always got back to me quickly and offered encouragement, compassion and accountability. We've talked about what caused, that major anxiety moment. So, I've studied a lot of useful things, that I'll take into my future life and I'm so excited to continue working with this psychologist from this https://www.bellevuereporter.com/blog/top-5-online-therapy-platforms-2022/ amazing online company!!!
