Film Event: The Nun Experience (Video)

It's been a while hasn't it, readers? Well the last few months has passed me by rather quickly but today I'm glad to be back with a rather fun and spooky post. We've all been counting down the days until Halloween and so with Autumn finally upon us, check out my frightful night in a secret, haunted location with The Nun Movie.

A few weeks ago, myself and Pandora were taken to a secret location by Warner Bros. for The Nun Movie Experience to celebrate the latest chapter in the Conjuring Universe. Other than being told we would be entering a haunted house experience, we had absolutely no idea what to expect.

Having had a safety briefing from the Warner team, we were taken in a blacked-out van to 'The Abbey'. Here, we were assigned a tour guide who would help us investigate the 'mysterious death of a nun'. Once at our first location (which was essentially an abandoned castle), we were taken on a journey of bizarre, horrific rituals - filled with satanic alters and faceless nuns determined to creep us out. In fact, it's probably easier to let you have a taste of it for yourself so here's the video of myself and Pandora getting seriously spooked...

Warning: Please note this video may contain scary scenes that some might find disturbing.

Pretty scary looking, right? I'll be honest, I didn't find the film to be all that scary but the experience itself was truly terrifying. I don't scare very easily but the level of detail that went in to it was fantastic. Each stage of the experience was so fascinating although you can find a few moments of me giggling to myself out of awkwardness.

Huge thanks to Warner Bros for allowing me and Pandora to come along for the evening. I absolutely loved the evening and it's so awesome to see film marketing on this size and scale. It's really exciting to see how the industry is evolving in this way.

Well, thanks for watching - I hope you enjoyed it! Here's to many more spooky evenings to come this Autumn,

Until next time horror fans,

  2. Yeah, that's really spooky! Cool video especially since it's Halloween season :) I haven't seen The Nun yet but I'm watching the 8th season of American Horror Story and I think Taissa Farmiga is going to return as her character from the 3rd season, which was about the witches in Coven. The only horror films I've seen in 2018 are Ghost Stories (with Martin Freeman) and Hereditary. Sophie, you look great in the Odeon Cinema videos and I'm so happy for you!

    1. Oh, I just checked your twitter, I'm so sorry to hear about Rosie. She was a very cute cat and I remember how fondly you've spoken about her.

    2. Aw thanks so much, Gil. Appreciate that! Have you still not seeing The Quiet Place yet? That is well worth a watch, it's amazing. Ghost Stories was interesting I think although to me it felt like a TV movie (not necessarily a bad thing). Hereditary will stay with me always I think haha

  3. I forgot to include The Quiet Place as one of the horror films I had seen in the early part of 2018. Since the beginning of October, I've seen The Nun and finished AHS season 8. On Netflix, I watched Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and was amazed at how dark and very good it was.
