Foodie Review: Halloween Frozen Cocktail Recipes with Salter

Happy Halloween ghouls and ghosts! My favourite time of the year is upon us and this year we were super excited host a proper Halloween party for the first time, in our first home.

As last year's Halloween was spent in lockdown, we decided to go big with food and drink, offering our guests a whole host of spooky snacks and frozen cocktails.

Thankfully, making a large batch of frozen cocktails for a whole party was made all the easier with our Salter EK2002V4SILVER 1000w NutriPro blender*. It quite literally turns ingredients in to a beautiful frozen cocktail in 30 seconds. Here's how you can make some of your very own at home, whether it be at your own party or just to enjoy with some scary movies on Halloween night...or any other night for that matter.

Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri

Prep Time: 5 mins

Serves 4 people

Ingredients

Salter 1000w NutriPro blender

250ml white rum

120ml lime juice (ideally from a bottle)

60-70ml sugar syrup (depending on your preferred sweetness)

400g Strawberries

200g Ice

Optional for garnish: Strawberries, limes, edible eyes

Method

It couldn't be easier! I measured out my ingredients using the Salter Eco Bamboo Rechargeable Digital Kitchen Scale*, although after a few goes you'll remember it by heart.

Remove the stalks from your strawberries and cut them in to quarters.

Add the ice to the 1 litre cup that comes with your Salter 1000w NutriPro blender, squeeze (or pour yur lime juice) over the top and add your remaining ingredients.

Place the removable 6-blade lid on top of the cup and make sure it is firmly in place and there are no leaks. Give it a bit of a shake.

Attach the cup to the blender and click in to place

Once you're sure the lid is secure, plug in and turn on the blender (placing on hand on the cup) and blend in 30 second blasts, until you're pleased with the consistency. Add more ice if you wish.

Pour your frozen strawberry daiquiri in to glasses. Add a slice of lime, a strawberry and edible eyes for decoration.

Frozen Mojito

Prep Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

Salter 1000w NutriPro blender

250ml white rum

120ml lime juice (fresh or from a bottle)

200ml Tonic (or lemonade if you prefer)

60-70ml sugar syrup (depending on your preferred sweetness)

200g ice

12 fresh mint leaves

Optional for garnish: Slice of lime, black food colouring, edible eyes

Method

Just like your Strawberry daiquiri, add your ingredients to the 1 litre cup, place the blade lid on top of the cup and make sure it is firmly in place and there are no leaks and shake.

Attach the cup to the blender and click in to place

Blend for 30 second blasts until you're pleased with the consistency. You may need to add more tonic/lemonade for this one.

Pour your frozen mojito in to glasses and add a slice of lime and edible eyes for decoration. Add a few drops of black food colouring to make it look spooky.

It really is that easy! I'm genuinely so pleased with the new blender and all of the guests loved the cocktails. In the past I had a blender and it just couldn't tackle the ice but this one blasts through it in no time. It's worth mentioning, also, that the blender comes with a handy second cup (which doubles up as a travel cup) so you can have two cocktail batches on the go.

I actually use the blender every morning to make a frozen smoothy for breakfast - and then again on the weekends for delicious cocktails at home. Of course, you can also adapt these cocktails easily to be mocktails for kids, or even smoothies for a healthier option.

I'm also really loving our bamboo scale as it not only looks lovely on the kitchen side but it's so easy to use and recharge when needed.

Well that's it for another recipe. What have you got planned for Halloween this year? Have you got any tips and tricks for frozen cocktails? As always, I love reading your comments so please do share your thoughts with me below. And, not forgetting a huge shout out to Salter* for revolutionising our kitchen which these truly amazing devices that I cannot live without now.

Until next time ghoulies, have a wonderful Halloween -
