Lifestyle Review: My 25th Birthday

So a few of you will know that this weekend saw my 25th birthday. Being a nice sunny day in London, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to head over to Shoreditch and visit some new and exciting spots. Stopping off at a cat cafe and an amazing BBQ joint, here's a little look at what I got up to on my birthday day out...

Jack and I headed to Shoreditch where he'd made us a reservation at the London Cat Village - as you can imagine, I was pretty darn excited. However, we got there a little early and so Jack decided to show me one of his most favourite dessert places, Dum Dum Donutterie, where we picked up a cheeky cronut each. Mine (pictured above) was filled with raspberry jam and tasted amazing. Having wandered around and popped in a few shops, it was finally time to check out the cat cafe I had been excited about all week.

Billed simply as a 'cafe with cats', the London Cat Village is a quiet cafe, offering an assortment of cakes, hot and cold drinks and, of course, cats. If you're a crazy cat lady, such as myself, you can imagine how amazing it was to just sit in a cafe surrounded by cats. Whilst the grub or service wasn't particularly the highlight of our visit, I think it's fair to say that when you visit a cat cafe, it's not for the food. Overall, I honestly loved the experience and would recommend it to any cat lovers if you ever get a chance. Fear not, you can see my full review of the Cat Cafe here.

We finished up the day with some early dinner at Red's True BBQ. Located just a short walk from the Box Park, Red's specialises in prime cuts, smoked joints and slow cooked meats. The menu is pretty impressive - so much so that I was pretty torn about what to order. The decor is absolutely amazing and the meat just melts in your mouth. You can see my full review on this place here but I couldn't resist sneaking in some photos from our visit. Just look at that tray, though.

Well, that's it for my birthday diary. Can I just point out all the major boyfriend points that Jack earned himself this weekend? He worked so hard to make it special and I couldn't of been happier. I'm super excited to do it all over again next weekend with his birthday. How was your weekend? What did you get up to? As always I love reading your thoughts so please do leave me lots of lovely comments below. Thanks so much for all the lovely messages and pressies I've received so far, it really was such a lovely day. I'm now looking forward to seeing what another year brings...

Until next time,
