Foodie Review: The Breakfast Club, Spitalfields

Hello, hello! Happy Monday everybody. I thought I'd go for a new style of post today. A few weeks ago, Jack and I went for dinner at one of my favourite places, The Breakfast Club Spitalfields in Shoreditch. As someone who loves trying new places to eat, I'm always recommending and singing the praises of my favourite restaurants. That in mind, I thought I'd share one of my favourite eateries with you all...

I've been to perhaps all but one of the chained outlets but have a particular fondness for the Spitalfields branch (though the Clapham one is certainly a close 2nd). If you're lucky enough to get in there without a queue, you too can marvel at the wonder that is their retro inspired decor. The clue is pretty much in the name as The Breakfast Club do, of course, serve American style all-day breakfasts but they also have a great range of burgers and meatier dishes.

The Breakfast Club All American
Luckily, we got there at the perfect time - just before it got crazy busy for the dinner rush. Jack opted for the Cow Vs. Pig burger (pictured above)- a meaty beef burger with pulled pork, served with a side of coleslaw and skin-on fries AND then ordered an extra side of mac'n'cheese. I went for a dish that would make even Ron Swanson proud - The All American. This is eggs (cooked to your choosing), potatoes, sausage with maple syrup and buttermilk pancakes.

Those of you who have already visited any of The Breakfast Club chains will already know how amazing it is inside. The Spitalfields one in particular, is complete with a giant fridge (which is actually a doorway to downstairs), My Little Pony wallpaper in the bathroom, disco balls and neon lights. Though all the branches are themed differently, they all have two things in common - great, affordable food, service with a smile and nostalgia.

Whether it be 70's like the one in Clapham or a 80's school hall like this one, I think they all have an endearing quality. The only downside to The Breakfast Club is that there's always a risk of a queue, sometimes up to an hours wait but patience is a virtue, afterall. Whilst this certainly shows how sort after a table at this place is, it's sometimes a bummer when all you want on a Sunday morning is a nice, quick breakfast. Luckily, the service is always speedy and it's worth the wait.

Have you ever visited The Breakfast Club? Where is your favourite place to eat? We actually went for dinner here before going to Rooftop Cinema Club (you can see my post of it here) and it ended up turning in to an experience all of it's own. I hadn't been in a while and I forgot just how much I love this place! I recommend the dishes above as well as the Banana and maple syrup french toast (served with bacon). Now that's good eatin'.

On a quick final note, I'd like to thank everyone who voted for me for the Bloggers Blog Awards that took place on Saturday 2nd. I managed to take home two awards - Highly Commended Longstanding Blog AND Highly Commended Social Media Platform (Instagram) and I'm honestly so grateful. To think that people are actually reading and following means so much to me and I never thought I'd actually win anything but the recognition feels great. Thanks so so much for all the support! Congratulations to all the other well deserved winners, I'm so happy for you all and I'm sorry I couldn't attend the ceremony but I'm sure we'll meet soon :)

Until next time fellow foodies,
