Lifestyle Review: New Living Room Tour With Wayfair.co.uk

Just over a month ago, I shared some exciting news in that I was leaving London for good and moving to Stamford in Lincolnshire. Since then, we have made the move and the house is officially finished! Many of you had mentioned to me on social media that you'd like to see how we decorated the place and so here's a look at our living room, featuring some amazing pieces that were very kindly gifted to us by Wayfair.co.uk

It's definitely a sign that you're getting older when you become obsessed with shopping for homeware goods. The past few weeks has been endless scrolling on Instagram for inspiration and finding bits online. Of course, finding new pieces for the place can add up and, following our news of the move, we were lucky enough to receive some amazing furniture from Wayfair to really complete the look of the place.

If you've not heard of Wayfair before, they are one of my go-to (and one of the largest) online furniture stores. As well as selling their own uniques pieces, they also work with a number of stylish brands to offer over 14 million items across home furnishings, decor and housewares regardless of our budget. Take a look at some of the products I picked for our new house, featuring Ripley the cat...

When thinking about how I wanted to decorate, one of the first things I wanted was a good-sized mirror above the wood burner. Wall mirrors not only look great but they are an excellent prop in making a room appear larger. One that immediately stood out to me on the Wayfair site was the Corvi Accent Mirror(60cm x 60cm). Combined with the wood burner, it creates a really lovely contrast between modern and the traditional style - plus it's a great space filler. This was paired beautifully with the Allure Cream Rug (120cm x 170cm) - pictured under the dining room table and benches to protect those wooden floors.

Besides all the many, many plants, the black and wooden industrial-style furniture is probably my most favourite thing about the room. We really needed a new coffee table and I had my eye on the the Vandusen Coffee Table* by 17 Stories on the Wayfair website. This table served us very well on our first night in the house when we had no internet, no TV signal, no dining table and no food in the cupboards. It was super easy to put together and so we gathered round this little beauty to eat our Indian takeaway after a long day of moving and unpacking.

All-in-all, we're pretty pleased with my new set up and the new additions to our home. I always feel a bit weird about sharing room tours like this but it seems to be one of the things you readers ask for the most. I find it bizarre that people would find this interesting but I'm finding myself more and more in to seeing other people's decor on Instagram and, after my old bedroom tour, I thought why not?

A huge thank you to Wayfair for my amazing new pieces, I honestly think they really bring the room together. But tell me, where do you find your decor inspiration? Have you upgraded your home lately? As always I love hearing from you so please do leave me lots of lovely comments below.

Until next time,

  1. Your new place looks amazing, Sophie! You always have such superb taste. The faux animal skulls are striking and I really like the painting picture of everyone next to the "Box Office" sign. The Steve Zissou picture of Bill Murray from Wes Anderson's Life Aquatic is also nice. I wish all three of you all the greatest happiness in your new home :)

  2. Thanks so much, Gil. I'm very pleased with how it turned out - and only took us a week to get it sorted :)

Aw thank you. I think Ella Masters did an amazing job on the painting. The skulls are actually real - we got them from an antique store not too far away.

    Thank you :)
